Drug Detection Assessment

General Monitoring Assessment

The first test to evaluating if there is a drug problem at all. A General Monitoring Assessment is the least intrusive method of testing the surfaces that may have come into contact with drugs. This is just a prudent precaution that many people use, because it is the less disruptive choice. A general monitoring assessment takes less time than other assessments; depending on the size of the areas being tested. The average general assessment should only take 30min-1hour.

Suspicion-Based Assessment

You might have reason to suspect that drug use is affecting the workplace. Production may have dropped or an employee or employees may exhibit unusual behavior or increased absenteeism. If this is the case, we recommend a suspicion-based assessment. These assessments require more time and more collection because rather than testing to see if drugs are anywhere in the facility, you are looking to see if they point in a particular direction. D-Tap employees will be testing to eliminate the areas with no drug residue and pinpoint those where drug evidence exists. The time will depended on the size of the location, but on average assessments take 2-3 hours.

Our Technology

Our D-TAP employees are trained to use the specially designed “wipe and spray” technology. This allows us to detect drug residue on all types of surfaces. When an employee or child has handled illegal drugs, traces can be left on surfaces in your work environment or home by their fingers and hands.

How

Step 1: We follow a 25 point check system where we test the most likely surfaces where drug residues can be found in your work environment: counters, keyboards, machinery, registers, vehicles and more.
Step 2: We assess the presence and type of drugs detected and help you zero in on the locations and likely sources.
Step 3: Working with you, we determine your options, including an individual testing program, establishing employee policies and scheduling recurring assessments to make sure your business stays drug-free.

Progressive Assessment

If a client has general concerns or if he has suspicions but they are vague and fail to point in any particular direction, we suggest a progressive assessment. You will perform general testing just to determine whether there is evidence of drug use anywhere in the work environment. If testing is positive for drug residue, then a more focused pass can be made, as in a suspicion-based assessment. If you find positive results, then we can move to a more targeted assessment to help narrow down the potential source of the drug residue. This allows you to efficiently manage his financial resources while still getting a reliable sense of the risk to your business.

Offer and Location

  • Workplaces – these often have the greatest variety of testing locations and surfaces. Desk surface, Computer mouse, Printers etc.
  • Schools and institutions – many of the locations and surfaces will be similar to those in Workplaces, with some special circumstances unique to these environments.
  • Homes – in homes you are probably retained by parents to assess the likelihood of drugs in their children’s environments. These assessments will be more limited in scope and location.
